The 28th Workshop on American Indigenous Languages (WAIL 28) will take place on Friday May 1 and Saturday May 2 at UCSB. Registration is free, and all attendees are kindly asked to register in advance. You can find the schedule and registration information on the conference website.

The Workshop on American Indigenous Languages is an annual conference hosted by the Department of Linguistics at UCSB. It brings together linguists, language activists, and community members to share work on the documentation, revitalization, and study of Indigenous languages across North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. WAIL also aims to foster an inclusive and collaborative space that connects academic research with community-based efforts. This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Telma Can Pixabaj (CIMSUR UNAM) as our keynote speaker.
