Archives, Memory, and Preservation Lab

Led by Jaime Alves (Black Studies), the Black Cities Lab locates and interprets repertoires of insurgent spatial practices against systemic racism in the urban environment, including responses to police terror, urban heat and flooding, food insecurity, and inter/intra-community violence.
Central American Studies Lab
Led by Giovanni Batz (Chicana/o Studies), the Central American Studies Lab examines a range of issues of political and social importance in Central America, centering extractivist violence, indigenous resistance, and historical memory as its foundational pillars.
Center for Restorative Environmental Work
